This week, we welcomed the Guinness World Record Challenge4 team at our Johannesburg operation as they continue their attempt to drive a fully electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz across six continents and more than 75 countries – on Maxion steel wheels.
The visit highlighted how our wheels perform in real world EV conditions, supporting safety, durability, and efficiency on one of the most demanding electric journeys ever attempted.

Our steel wheels plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, is now powered in part by a new solar photovoltaic system, generating 919 MWh of clean energy per year and avoiding approximately 617 tons of CO2 emissions annually – the equivalent of the carbon captured by more than 10,000 trees over 10 years. ⚡🌞
This initiative represents our ninth solar installation globally and is a key milestone in our sustainability strategy, Roadmap Zero, supporting our commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040.

Around the world, local Maxion Team Award events have wrapped up – celebrating impressive projects that showcase scalable impact through agility, adaptability, and a strong culture of learning and synergy – demonstrating the true power of teamwork at Maxion Wheels.
Next up, winning teams advance to regional competitions, with global winners selected in April.
Beyond the recognition, MTA fuels productivity and collaboration, with last year’s winning projects already being replicated across Maxion Wheels plants, accelerating the learning and impact.
