From rugged mountain roads to long highway stretches, Maxion steel wheels have helped power another milestone in the Challenge4 team's Guinness World Record journey. The team has now completed the South American leg of the tour in the fully electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz.
Over six weeks, the team covered nearly 15,000 kilometers across eight countries, navigating everything from mountain passes and coastal roads to bustling cities and remote stretches of highway. Through every kilometer, Maxion’s steel wheels continued to deliver the durability and reliability required for one of the world’s most demanding EV journeys.
With South America now behind them, the world record attempt enters its final chapter. The finish line is getting closer, and the adventure is far from over.

Maxion has published its first global Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), covering aluminum and steel wheels produced across our global manufacturing network.
The study represents an important advancement in our sustainability journey, moving from individual assessments to a harmonized global methodology across 24 manufacturing facilities worldwide.
The findings highlight the importance of raw material choices and supplier engagement while providing a stronger foundation for data-driven decision-making and customer sustainability discussions.
As customers and reporting frameworks increasingly seek standardized environmental information, this work strengthens our ability to provide consistent and transparent lifecycle insights.
